My sincere condolences to Martina's Family. I knew Martina through the gym where we both were members. I always felt a warm inviting presence when she was in class. She always greeted you with her illuminating smile. She will be missed by everyone who knew her♡

I was shocked and very upset to hear of Martina’s passing. Why am I so affected?-not just that Martina was one of the most vivacious,” fun to be with “ people I have ever known but she was always a tower of strength, reliable and constant.  I knew Martina from exercise class and she would always be there working hard herself while supporting others yet never allowing the focus to be on herself. Martina quietly made a positive contribution for everyone!

I met Martina during the most difficult struggle a family can imagine and was captivated by her grace, her intense love for Annie and Volker and the positive attitude she brought to the struggle at every turn.
Martina was a beautiful person in every way, and her spirit lives on in the memory of that “Martins smile” and in the beautiful home and garden she created for her family.

Martina has been in my fitness classes for as long as I can remember, literally years. She touched so many people in class, including me! She always strived to do her best, and many times outdid the teacher! She was a source of information whether it be plants, exercise, injuries, the topics were endless. She was such a ray of light, she brought joy to so many people. She will be so missed -  those who knew her were the lucky ones.
She will always be in my heart ❤️

Our Martina, my dear Tinchen, was always far away.  But we knew that she was in good hands and lovingly cared for by Volker and his parents Norbert and Irmgard, who were there for the whole family including brother Oliver and Rita.

I say thank you to them today for everything they have been able to do for my daughter over 40 years.  They stood by their side in the hardest hours that Martina and Volker had to experience when they lost beloved daughter Annie at only seven years.

For months now everyone feared for Annie's mother, prayed for her and hoped.  Fate can't be that cruel, can it?  But it was so, and you had to ask the Lord why?  Why do you punish them so terribly?  Why don't you take me, I asked as a 90-year-old father?

The family, especially Volker, has experienced almost a year the whole horror of the 3-fold disease.  I can only hope that you still have strength for the difficult hours ahead.  We will be especially close to you.

I am very sad, and my daughter Susanne with husband Bernd and children Lisbeth, Anton and Helene are too.  And all those who were close to her mourn with her. For my siblings, nephews and nieces, the news came as a shock.

I lost my wife Ingeborg at 60 to the same illness and my father at 36.  The whole world is chasing Covid/Corona, I hope cancer is not forgotten!

I met Martina in Susan's exercise class at Kingwood Fitness years ago. She was such a kind and vibrant person. I will miss her. My thoughts are with you, her family, at this sad time.
