Mary Sophie Buckalo

Mary was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She emulated Christ’s love by embracing everyone, caring more about others than herself. Her enthusiasm for life affected everyone she met. She was kind, generous, and compassionate, beautiful both inside and out.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Anna Borak and brother, Michael Borak. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Andrew Frank Buckalo; daughters, Ann Nicole White and husband Jim, Lauren Justine McDermott and husband Patrick, Mary Durrette Buckalo; son, Michael Frank Buckalo; grandchildren, Caleb, Kai and Keira White; Luke, Max and Nicole McDermott; sister, June Moriarty and husband Jack; sister-in-law, Ginger Borak; numerous nieces and nephews, and many, many friends she considered family.

A memorial service was held on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Kingwood Bible Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family, per Mary, requests that donations be made to: Kingwood Bible Church, Firm Foundations Romania, or Aid Sudan.
