

Merlin Everett Remmenga, 69, of Kingwood, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2013. He was born July 4, 1944, in Lincoln, NE to Cornelius and Hilda Remmenga. Merlin received both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Nebraska. Following his education, he served 2 years in the Army during Vietnam. Merlin spent 45 years practicing law in both Nebraska and Texas. He was a faithful servant of Christ the King Lutheran Church. Most of all, Merlin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Merlin is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Darlene Remmenga; children, Jason Remmenga and wife Mary, Michelle Remmenga, Lisa Hodges and husband Colby; grandchildren, Colin Everett Remmenga and Alexa Grace Remmenga; brothers, Clifford Remmenga and wife Anna, Alvin Remmenga and wife Sylvia; twin sister, Margaret Remmenga and numerous nieces and nephews. Merlin was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Virginia Harms.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 3803 W. Lake Houston Parkway, Kingwood, TX 77339. A reception will follow.
