

Nora was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
Nora was born April 25, 1927 in Farranfore, County Kerry Ireland to the late William and Rita (Mahoney) Sheehan. Nora was survived by her husband of 65 years, Burton Henry Stewart, daughter Rita (Stewart) Jurek and son John Stewart, grandchildren Christopher Stewart, Kirk Stewart, Michelle (Stewart) Chapman Barry Jurek, and Erik Jurek. Great-grandchildren, Kayla, Taira, Christopher, Bethany, William, Kaitlyn, Cassy, Scarlet, Joshua, Luke, DeAnn, Katelynn, John and Hellen.
Nora completed school in Ireland with a leaving certificate and came to this country Nov. 1947. Nora’s first job was working at Schraffs, New York and soon moved to San Francisco and worked at the Childrens Hospital before becoming governess to 2 children. Nora met her husband a U.S, Marine in Nov. 1949, married Dec. 2, 1950 and started her life as a homemaker. Nora bacame a U.S. citizen 1955. After years of traveling Nora and Burton setteled in Springfield Va. Nora received a High School Diploma in this country when in her mid 50’s. Nora was active with the Hibernians working her way up to President of the State of Virginia Lady’s Hibernians, Nora organized many charitable events during her tenure as President. Nora moved to Niceville Fl. In 1996 and then to Kingwood Tx in 2010. Due to a stroke Nora resided at Regent Care Kingwood for the last 5 years. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 8, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm with a rosary service starting at 7 pm at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, Texas 77339. Her funeral will be on Friday, February 12, 2016 at St. Martha’s Catholic Church at 10:00 am, 4301 Woodridge Parkway, Porter, Texas 77365.
