Memorial services for Richard Edward Mantler III “Rick”, 53, of Houston, Texas will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Kingwood United Methodist Church, 1799 Woodland Hills Dr., Kingwood, Texas, with Rev. Stacey Sweet officiating.
Rick was born in New York City on December 20, 1968 to parents Cynthia and Richard Mantler. He passed away on May 12, 2022 in Houston, Texas.
Rick graduated from Taylor High School in 1987. He attended A & M for one semester and then transferred to the University of St. Thomas where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. He worked in the sign business for many years until he decided to make a career change and work in IT. Rick had a brilliant mind and the gift of expressing his thoughts, opinions or just about anything through writing.
He had a passion for music and played the electric and acoustic guitar starting in middle school. He was in several bands from middle school in to adulthood.
He was preceded in death by his cousin, Kevin Nentwig.
He is survived by his mother, Cynthia Jane Mantler; father, Richard Edward Mantler Jr.; sister Karen Mantler Soliz; brother-in-law, Jay Soliz; niece, Gracie Elizabeth Soliz; nephew, Maximo Joseph Soliz; aunt, Anne Koch; cousins, Kim Nentwig Stacey Greer, Matt Koch; uncle, David Mantler; cousins, Lauren Williams and Shelly Duke; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Rick had a sense of humor like no other. His family as well as his countless friends are going to miss him greatly.
Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke and put it on you, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit; and you will find rest. Matthew 11:28-29
