Richard John Powell Sr.

Richard John Powell, Sr., 70, of Humble, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2011. Richard spent 30 years as a special agent for the United States Government where he earned numerous awards and letters of achievement. He was a member of the NARF and the American Legion. Richard was a loving husband, father and proud grandfather.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Powell and sister, Sandra Meshurle. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Elizabeth Powell; children, Gina Green and husband James, Richard Powell, Jr. and wife Dodi, David Powell; grandchildren, Cassandra Powell, Richard Powell III, Joseph Conover, Stephanie O’Toole, Jason Powell, Austin Holmgren and Alyssa Holmgren; great-grandchild, Jaiden Holmgren; mother, Dorothy Powell; brothers, Joseph, Steven, Larry, Mike and Tom Powell.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Kingwood Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the First Assembly of God, 1915 FM 1960 Bypass Road East, Humble, TX 77338. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Houston National Cemetery.
