Roger Martin Knouse, 72 of Kingwood, Texas, passed away June 30, 2023. He was the youngest of 6 born to Simon Newton and Beulah Knouse on December 26, 1950 in Indianola, Iowa. After graduating from Indianola High School he joined the United States Army in 1969. He was soon deployed to Vietnam where he served two tours. Once back from Vietnam, he met the mother of his children, Debbie Ripperger Vetters. They had two sons, Cody (1972) and Jason (1977). He had a career as an executive in the oil and gas industry working for Kinder Morgan. He was a member of St. Judes, Vietnam Veterans of America, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He had passion for Harley Davidson, the Iowa Hawkeyes, Amazon Prime, and his family. His passion for his family was evident to everyone he met. His boys and grandchildren were the absolute joy of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Simon Newton and Beulah Knouse, his siblings Ted, Tom, Joyce, and Sherry. He is survived by his two sons, J. Cody (Jennifer) and Jason (Erin), his four grandchildren John, Elizabeth (Steven), Katie (Curt), Jacob, his sister June Wood, his niece and nephew, Lea and John Wood, who were like siblings to him, and many loved nieces and nephews. Roger will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends whom he loved dearly. Roger will always be known for his kind and gentle heart.
There will be a Celebration of Life with Military Honors promptly at 12 pm for Roger on Monday, July 3, 2023 with a reception to follow at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Hwy 59, Kingwood, Texas 77339.

A memorial service for Roger will be held Monday, July 3, 2023 starting at 12:00 PM at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023 at 12:30pm at Houston National Cemetery with Military Honors to be presented. We will be meeting at Kingwood Funeral Home for a procession to Houston National leaving at 11:30am.
