

Roy Joseph Robicheaux, Sr., born July 14, 1925 in Franklin, Louisiana to Cyrus Joseph and Marie Hebert Robicheaux, went to rest in the arms of his Lord and Savior on November 7, 2010. Roy graduated from Sam Houston High School in Houston and joined the Navy to serve on the USS Price during World War II. Roy married Norma Siemsen on January 7, 1948. He was employed by Humble Oil and Refining Co. (Exxon Co. U.S.A.) in their Aviation Dept. and retired in 1986 after 32 years. Roy was a founding parisioner of St. Martha Catholic Church where he was active as a member of the Knights of Columus as well as a regular volunteer for many years at Martha's Kitchen, a soup kitchen which feeds the poor in downtown Houston. A resident of Kingwood, TX, Roy is survived by his wife of 62 years, Norma Robicheaux; daughter, Laura Sandford; sons, Thomas Robicheaux and his wife, Irene, and Roy Robicheaux, Jr.and his wife, Lisa; sister, Geraldine Phillips; brothers, Wilmer Robicheaux, Douglas Robicheaux and his wife, Margaret, and Leonard Robicheaux; grandchildren, Roy Robicheaux III, James Robicheaux and his wife, Brittney, Carlee Robicheaux, Damien Sandford, Nicole Sandford, Lauren Robicheaux, and Garrett Robicheaux; and one great granddaughter, Madeline Michelle Sandford. Visitation will be Thursday, November 11, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Kingwood Funeral Home. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 12, 2010 at St. Martha Catholic Church, 3702 Woodland Hills Dr., Kingwood, TX 77339. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Martha’s Kitchen, where Roy volunteered for many years, c/o St. Martha’s Church.
