Samantha Kealoha Rockwood

Samantha Kealoha o’ke’ala o’na o’na o’napua o’Hawaii Rockwood, age 42, of Houston, Texas passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. Samantha's name means "The sweet alluring fragrances of the flowers of Hawaii".

Samantha was born on April 28, 1982 in Portland, Oregon to Steven M. & Lesly I. Rockwood. She graduated from Maine West in Des Plaines, Illinois and received her Bachelor's Degree in Advertising from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. She spent her career in sales. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had a passion for photography and art. Samantha enjoyed her travels to different countries: New Zealand, China, Japan, Spain, Mallorca, Morocco and France. She spoke Spanish, Italian, French and took interest in Japanese & Arabic. When visiting family in Hawaii she would fall into conversing in local Pidgeon English.

Samantha is survived by her son, Donovan Kapono Rockwood Baker; her mother, Lesly I. (nee Ahuna) Rockwood; a sister, Sunni K Baker (Ryan M.); nieces, Ella I., Kate E., and Kale'a G. Baker: loving uncles, aunties, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her father Steven M. Rockwood.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 9:30- 11:30 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 14350 E. Sam Houston Parkway North, Houston, Texas 77044.
