Sammie started his life of selfless service in the U.S. Navy. He then continued as a charter member of the Atascocita Volunteer Fire Department.
Sammie is a member of the D.A.V., American Legion, V.F.W. and has numerous awards and certificates to mention throughout his life.
Sammie leaves behind his loving wife Rose; daughter Louisa Key, and numerous family, friends, and loved ones.
Family will recieve friends for a visitaion on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. til 8:00 p.m. at Kingwood Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at First Assembly of God, 1915 FM 1960, Humble Texas 77338 on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Sam will then be laid to rest at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas on Wednesday, February 13. 2013 at 1:00 p.m.
