Thelma Johnson

Thelma Johnson passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2012. Thelma was born October 15, 1927 in San Diego, California. She was raised in San Francisco, California where she met and married her handsome sailor Robert E. Johnson on April 14, 1944. They moved to Houston in 1946, where they raised their family. Thelma went to work in 1954 for G.F.C. Loan Company. She worked there for 33 years. She then went to work for Mercury Finance Company until retiring in 2000.

Thelma is preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Johnson and her beloved son, Jeffrey C. Johnson. She is survived by her daughters, Sandy Crenshaw and husband James and Sharon Morgan and husband Bud; six wonderful grandchildren, Scott (Rhonda), Todd (Heather), Beth (John), Marc, Rachel and Lauren and nine great grandchildren, Zachary, JD, Macy, Catherine, Grace, Clare, Kaitlen, Bryce, Hallie and Madison.

A memorial service will be held at 12 noon, Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at First United Methodist Church, 800 Main Street, Humble, Texas where Dr. E.B. Beasley Jr. will officiate. Immediately following, all are invited to join the family for a reception to be held in the Fellowship Hall adjacent to the church. Prior to the memorial service, the family will have gathered for a private graveside service at Brookside Cemetery in Houston. Serving as honorary pallbearers are James Crenshaw, Bud Morgan, John Hartman, Scott Crenshaw, Todd Crenshaw, Marcus Byars and brother-in-law Ted Johnson.
