Verna Jack Lester

Verna Jack Pedigo Lester went to be with our Heavenly Father on March 16, 2014. Pedigo, Texas and the Pedigo family changed forever on November 2, 1914, when Verna (Baby Jack) was born to Lula Alice Ogden and Jack Hamilton Pedigo. She was the youngest of 10 children. They all preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Ned Lester, and her grandson, David Lester Moody.

Jack graduated from Kirby High School in Woodville, Texas and Cheneire’s Business School in Beaumont, Texas where she met Ned. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Town Bluff, Texas, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Colonial Dames.

Jack is survived by her daughters Lucy Colvin and husband Rex of Lake Jackson, Texas, and Jane Moody and husband Roger of Kingwood, Texas, 4 granddaughters, 6 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2014, at the Pedigo Family Cemetery Chapel, Town Bluff, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made payable to the Pedigo Family Cemetery and mailed to Jack Pedigo, P.O. Box 1086, Village Mills, Texas 77663.
