Vincent " Jerry" Gerald Lawrence

Chief Petty Officer Vincent G. "Jerry" Lawrence, USCG Retired, passed away on September 8, 2013 in Humble, Texas. He was born June 4, 1942 in Warsaw, New York to Lavinia B. Lawrence and Augustus O. Lawrence.

Vincent graduated from Dansville High School in 1959 and went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force from March of 1960 to July of 1964. He continued to serve in the United States Coast Guard from July 1964 to retirement in May of 1982.

Vincent graduated from NHCCC in December of 1983 and attended Sam Houston State University from 1984 to 1986. He retired from the United States Postal Service in June of 2004 after sixteen and a half years.

Vincent is preceded in death by his father, Augustus O. Lawrence.

Vincent is survived by his loving wife of forty and half years, Juanita M. Lawrence, mother Lavinia Carpenter of Dansville, New York, daughters; Mimi Rhame and her husband Kevin, and Tammy Windham and her husband Eddie. He is also survived by three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one brother, and two sisters.

A visitation will take place on Monday, September 16, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, Texas 77339. A funeral gathering will take place on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. also at Kingwood Funeral Home.

Vincent will then be laid to rest at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veteran's Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038 following his funeral gathering at 12:30 p.m.
