

Virginia Sue "Ginny" Sanders, 83, of Porter, Texas, formerly of Lafayette, Indiana, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 8, 2025. She was born on March 11, 1941, in Williamsport, Indiana, to Cecil and Anna Marie (Jernagen) Raplee.
Sue graduated from Williamsport High School and later married Ronald Keith Sanders in 1970. She worked at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, for married student housing and retired after many years of dedicated service. A devoted sports fan, Sue loved cheering for the Purdue Boilermakers basketball team and was a lifelong Chicago Cubs enthusiast.
After moving from Lafayette to Noblesville, Indiana, Sue became an active member of the Noblesville Senior Center, where she enjoyed playing cards with friends. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always eager to catch up on their lives. In her final year, Sue relocated to Texas, where she delighted in the sunshine and took pride in nurturing her beloved fern plant.
Sue is survived by her daughter Koweba McKinney; daughter-in-law Dedria Sanders; stepdaughter Peggy Sanders-Anderson; grandchildren Rachel (Adam Chandler) McKinney, Rhianna McKinney, Jenny (Pete) Seiler, Tabitha (Greg) Schrock, Tia Sanders (Clint Mann), and Chandler (Lori) Sanders; and great-grandchildren David, Adam, Josie, Olivia Sue, Lily Ann, Jerrell, Meredith, Wyatt, Brielle, Carly, and Lydia. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Raplee Sr. and Anna Marie Raplee; her siblings, Cecil Raplee Jr. and Jack Raplee; stepsons David Sanders, Ronnie Sanders; and her husband, Ronald Keith Sanders.
In accordance with Sue’s wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Breakthrough T1D.
