(Obviously, lest there's any misunderstanding, our message was meant to convey condolences on the anniversary of Caryl's death. Hard to believe it's been five years already...). 

Hello from our cottage on Manitoulin Island, seven hours north of you, where the news takes a little longer to arrive. I've just learned of Caryl's passing.  I'd like to extend my condolences to all the Paikins and Yules in Caryl's family. I hadn't seen Caryl in many years, but I do remember our get togethers from back in the day and some heartfelt conversations with Cameron about how cruel life's fate can be.  Godspeed to all from Steve, Francesca, Zach, Henry, Teddy, Giulia, and the rest of us Paikins from one branch over on the family tree. 

A special note to Caryl’s family. Your mom was a remarkable lady. I knew her many years ago at UofT. I think we crossed paths on a ski bus trip to Blue Mountain.  An interesting, vibrant lady. 
How memorable? Well - after 40 plus years I somehow remembered her name and did the Google thing just now. So sad to see the search  links announcing her death.  I remember a lot of jokes  on the bus. ~ summer camp kinda stuff.  We were stranded with far too much snow. Yeah  - even too much for Blue Mountain.
She kept us in stitches. 
A unique lady.

I worked with Caryl for many years both at the Rotary Centre and KidsAbility in Kitchener.  She was tireless in her devotion to the children and  strongly supported her staff in the Speech and Language Department.   Caryl also had a unique gift of writing skits, songs and poems for Christmas and other celebratory events at the Centre.  We cherish many, many fond memories of these hilarious evenings that we shared together.  I will miss Caryl.

Caryl was a sweet and loving friend. Since childhood we were a close group. I have pictures of my 5th Birthday Party,  Pajama Parties and Our Bat Mitvah and all these pictures bring a smile to my face.  There was always mischief when we were together . I have happy memories of time spent at The Paikin house. 
Cameron, to you and your sons and their families it's been years of heartache, but Caryl's beautiful smile and increditable eyes and happy memories will carry on. Caryl's spirit will be remebered by all who knew her.

My Memories...Caryl and I went to Hebrew school together...sometimes her Dad drove...sometimes my Dad drove...Cameron you chose a wonderful picture of Caryl...your tribute is equally beautiful...not a traditional path in life, a life well lived, well loved, and well shared.

Caryl was a driving force with KidsAbility and always had the best interests of the community at heart.  
Her contributions and enthusiasm are well etched in my mind.

As someone who grew up with Francis and knew Gary, I send my deepest condolences. The Paikin family contributed so much to this community - both Waterloo and Beth Jacob, they are and will be surely missed. 
To Caryl's 'Yule' family, I can only thank you for your love and caring.  You are truly the best.

What a beautiful picture of Caryl you have chosen. I have many fond memories of Caryl at the old Rotary centre. Dressing up for Hallowe’en, the amazing songs she would write for skits, teaching us about Jewish holidays. 
My condolences to Cameron and the rest of the family on Carols death.

I was very sorry to hear of the passing of the last of my wonderful Bricker Avenue neighbours.  I have great memories like playing with baby chicks in front of their fireplace.   That must have been close to 60 years ago.

Cam and family - Phyllis and I were saddened to learn of Caryl's passing. We remember her well when she used to walk through the neighbourhood and chatted with many of us.  Phyllis also has good memories working with her during the development of the new facility for the KW Rotary Children's Centre (now KidsAbility).

What a beautiful photo of Caryl.   Her warm spirit provided light to so many throughout the years.  She will be missed.  Harley and Spencer -I can't begin to  tell you how proud she was of you both.  I know how many miles you and your dad walked beside her.  Cam - you and your family have taught us so much about love, respect and compassion.

It is with great sadness that we learned of Caryl's passing. She was a strong woman who contributed much to our community. May her memory be a blessing.

Caryl was a beautiful soul . 
 I looked forward coming into Work everyday where I would be met with those beautiful, bright eyes and soft handshake. She was always so excited to see me! It made me feel special because she'd always remember  my name without even reading my nametag.  She always pronounced my name so clearly. " Hiii , Linds- ay !"  She'd take my hand like we were bestfriends , and bring me down the hallway swing ing our arms like she was the happiest girl in the world.  She never failed to tell me she loved me either  "eyyye 💝 u !"  Such a special lady who will be missed with all my heart.  She was family, she was extraordinary, she was brilliant !
