She passed peacefully at her home on Friday, January 9th, 2026 at the age of 74.
Loving mother of Lucas (Meghann) and Mel Shaughnessy-Daub (Kevin) as well as cherished Nana of Elliott and Quinn.
She will be deeply missed by her loving friends Joan & Len Habermill, Lisa George, Rosely & Mark Schwartz, Janice Lippert, Ann Bernard, Joan Dermott, Sandy Mill and the congregation at Belmont Village Church. Predeceased by her father Harold Smith, husband Brian, son Patrick and grandson Doc.
Debbie was a firecracker; always up for adventures, laughs, games and practical jokes. She loved to visit thrift shops and antique stores while on the hunt for treasures. She was an avid crafter, sharing her love through gifts of handmade clothes, knitted sweaters and beautifully crafted quilts.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held in the spring. Donations in memory of Debbie may be made to the Post-Polio Canada through March of Dimes.
