It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, mother-in-law, grandma, great grandma and great great grandma Elizabeth "Betty" Hintz passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025 after a brief illness.
She is the last surviving member of the Wagner family from Bridgeport.
Betty worked at Smile & Chuckles and Bauer Skate for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed playing bingo and travelling around to casinos. She also enjoyed time with her grandkids and her children.
She is predeceased by her parents, her first husband John Roussel and her second husband Harold Hintz. Also predeceased by her daughter Linda Mossel and her husband Peter, her son John Roussel and daughter-in-law Annette, and son-in-law Brian Bock.
Betty is survived by her children Ruth Ann Rodrigues and her husband Real of Peace River, Alberta, Debbie Hutfloetz and her husband Henry, Donna Bock of Kitchener, Marylou Sipprell and her husband Mark of Kitchener. Also remembered by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Winston Park Long Term Care Floor 8, Dr. Maidment, Cathy Hu, and all of the other medical staff and PSW's that cared for our mom in the time she resided there. A special thank you to Mary (PSW), who was so good with Mom along with Ranya and Helen. Thank you so much for caring for her.
Cremation has taken place and a private time of remembrance has been held by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be appreciated to the Canadian Cancer Society, 55 St. Clair Ave. W., Suite 300, Toronto, ON M4V 2Y7.
