Frederick William Marks

With sadness the family of Frederick William Marks announces his passing on October 28, 2016 in London Ontario in his 91st year. Fred leaves his wife and love of his life of 70 years (May 1946) Gloria (Recchia) . Beloved father of Fred , Joy (Darryl ) and Tim ( Dallas) . Cherished grandfather of Jeffrey (Angie), Michael (Kristy) Jessica ( Kevan ) and Hayden . Great grandfather and big baca of JJ, Lauren, Nikki, Ashley, Rachel, Christopher and Darren. Great-great father of Adalee.

Fred was predeceased by his parents John and Kate Marks and brother John.

Born and raised in Toronto, Fred entered into the grocery business at the age of 18 and retired as a Meat Manager for Zehrs in Kitchener.

Fred leaves to mourn his passing his many nieces and nephews that enjoyed his company and the warmth of his home throughout the years.

It can be said of Fred that he was a loyal and generous man, as a father, grandfather, uncle, neighbour and friend . He freely offered the comforts of his home, a place at his table and his support in times of need.

Fred was a consummate gardener, winning several awards in Kitchener for his wonderful flowers and beautiful gardens. Fred and Gloria after retirement volunteered at Meals on Wheels for 15 yrs and at Sunnyside home for seniors.

Visitation will be at the Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S. on Tuesday, November 1 from 12 to 1 pm with a funeral to follow in the chapel at 1pm. Interment at Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the London Region Cancer Clinic would be appreciated by the Marks family.
