Frederick Stanley Schell

He is survived by his sister, Marilynn Jones (David), Nephew Bill Jones (Amanda), great nephew Henry Jones, cousins Father Ken Miskiewicz & Tom Miskiewicz (Cathy).

Fred was born on August 11, 1941 in Kitchener and lived his 83 years in Kitchener. He attended Sacred Heart Elementary School, St Jerome’s High School & the University of Waterloo. He was a research and development chemist at Hart Chemical, Lever Brothers, Texaco and Huntsman Chemical, all located in Guelph, Ontario. These various companies benefited from the many patents he developed. He was highly regarded in the chemical industry.

In his younger years, Fred enjoyed camping, playing his guitar, and snowmobiling. He was a life long jazz enthusiast and golfer.

There will be a visitation on May 27th 2025, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa Street South, Kitchener.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on May 28th 2025 at St. Anthony Daniel’s Church, 29 Midland Drive, Kitchener at 1:00 pm. Fred's cousin, Father Ken Miskiewicz will officiate. An interment will follow directly after the funeral at Woodland Cemetery, 119 Arlington Blvd. off Weber Street, Kitchener. All are welcome to a reception at St. Anthony Daniel’s Church Hall following the interment.
