Gerald Donald Riopel

With great sorrow his family announces that Gerald went to be with his Lord on November 14th 2013 after a long struggle with Scleroderma. Dearly beloved soul mate and husband of Marna (nee Edwards), and much loved dad to Carol-Ann Riopel, Debbie Evans, Jason Riopel (Jackie) and step dad to Wendy Hiltz (Barry), Heather Pluecks (Garth) and Andrew MacElwee (Jayne). Gerald leaves precious memories with his grandchildren Adam Meridith, Mat MacElwee, Kira Hiltz, Kyrstin Hiltz, Clay Hiltz, Jonathon Pluecks (Kristen), Shawna Pluecks, Oliver Riopel, Isis Ismail, great grandchildren Marshall, Anthony and Wesley. Survived by his brother Leo (Rita) Riopel, and his sister Irene Sevigny; Gerald will be remembered by many beloved nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Henri and Agnes Riopel and his sisters Georgette (Cyril) Chaumant, Bertha (Bert) Lauzon, Janet Riopel and Violet (John) Larche.

Family and Friends will be received at the Doon Presbyterian Church, 35 Roos St., Kitchener, on Tuesday November 19th from 10:00 a.m. Memorial Service to celebrate Gerald’s life will commence at 11:00 a.m. with a time to share stories and refreshments in the church hall to follow.
