Jean Mason

Jean was born on December 17, 1916 in Beloeil, Quebec to Catherine Dunlea (1974) and John Kerr (1925). Jean was raised in Montreal, Quebec. Jean married Charles Edward Mason and moved to Verdun, Quebec where they had a son, Glenn John Mason in 1947. Jean was Manager for Walter J. Cross shoes in Valois, Quebec when the family moved to Pointe Claire, Quebec in 1948. Charles was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Jean was a member of the Eastern Star. They loved to travel and spent the winters in Florida. Glenn married Linda in 1973 and they had 2 daughters, Wendy and Laura. Jean and Charlie moved to Kitchener, Ont. in 1982. Charles, her husband, passed away in 1983.

Jean was an active volunteer for many years at the Breithaupt Community Centre and the Downtown Community Centre. She was on the Mayor's Advisory Council. She was still volunteering at 100 years old. She also had two great-grandchildren, Greyson and MacKinley.

There will be a Memorial Visitation on Thursday, August 24, 2023 between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, (519-743-8900).
