Beloved husband of the late Gerry Tinker (née Nall). Dear father of Emma Law (Darryl) and Samantha Dixon (John), and their mother Sybil Tinker (née Grove). Loved grandfather of Morgan, Hayden, Chelsea (Blake), and Ashlee. Predeceased by his brother Colin Tinker.
Dad grew up surrounded by loved ones adored by his mother and father and big brother Colin. Being from the Lake District he developed a passion for climbing, camping, and cycling. Dad was one of the founders for the Lincoln Mountaineering Club in his younger years.
He immigrated in 1969 from England to Canada with his engineering background and pursued a career in the computer industry.
We are deeply grateful for Dad’s gentle demeanour and steadfast, quiet strength. His playful teasing, always accompanied by a mischievous smile, brightened our days. We will fondly remember his invention of the role of “King Brian,” sitting in his chair, regal and content, happily waiting to be served—a role that brought laughter to all and when his grandchildren were little kept them happily busy.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the medical communities at Cambridge Memorial and to the devoted PSWs, especially Tanya. Your care and dedication extended Dad’s life and filled his time with remarkable stories from his adventures in and out of the hospital. Thank you for giving him comfort, dignity, and companionship.
Cremation has taken place and a private time of remembrance has been held by the family. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations would be appreciated to a charity of your choice.
