Milena was born on May 1, 1950, in Ladići, Croatia. She met and married her beloved husband, Angelo Maras, before immigrating to Canada in 1974 to build a new life for their family.
Milena was known for her strength, courage, and devotion to those she loved. Later in life, she made another courageous move to Burnaby, where she spent some of her happiest years surrounded by family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Angelo; her mother and father; and her eldest brother.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Sophia (Joe, Alex, and Christoph), Angela, and Stephan (Lydia, Angelo, and Luka), as well as extended family and many dear friends.
Family will receive guests at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St., S., Kitchener on Wednesday, May 20, for visitation from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Francis of Assisi, 49 Blueridge Ave, Kitchener, Ontario at 1:00 pm. Burial to take place at Woodland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada in Milena’s memory.
