Beloved and cherished husband of Lois Doreen Bradshaw (Mason) for 68 years. Deeply loved father to daughter Kim and son Kevin (Kathryn) and treasured Grandpa to Malcolm. He was predeceased by his sister Ilene (Dafoe). Ross will also be missed by grand-dogs Rory and Winston.
After a long and successful career in the business he founded in Toronto, Ross retired to spend more time with his family. He spent the next 28 years volunteering alongside his wife Lois at a Seniors Community Centre where they taught numerous dance classes each week. He will be remembered for his smile, sense of humour and his kindness to the line dancers. Ross thought of them as his friends. Line dancing took Ross and Lois on many adventures with their line dancing friends - from bus trips, cruises, summer lodges and jamborees over the 28 years.
Ross enjoyed spending time with his family, travelling and gardening. Ross had a green thumb, and he was known for having the most well manicured lawn in their neighbourhood for the past 60 years. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with the children and his grandson. There were many travel adventures in their RV with family and friends and many hours playing with his grandson and walking his grand-dog Rory. There was always a treat for his furry friends and a Scotch mint for his grandson.
Ross spent the last 19 months at The Village of Winston Park where he made many friends with his gentle manner, kind words, humour and his love for music and dancing. He would eagerly get up and dance with residents and staff.
The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the staff that provided care for Ross and all the residents on Emma’s Neighbourhood at Winston Park. Their dedication and commitment is an inspiration. They are all Dad’s friends and friends of the family. We would also like to thank the Palliative Care team for the extraordinary care shown to Ross.
The world will not be the same without him. Ross will be missed by many but never forgotten.
The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider donating to their favourite charity, or to the Alzheimer Society of Waterloo Wellington in Ross’ name.
Cremation has taken place. On Friday November 10th please join us to
celebrate Ross’s life in the Library at The Village of Winston Park, between 11:30 am and 3:00 pm. We invite you to come and share stories of his wonderful life with friends and family at the informal reception. Light refreshments will be served.
