Ruth was born on February 20, 1927 in St. Clements. She was the twelfth of fifteen children of Mary Blais and Leo Forwell of St. Clements. Her siblings, all now passed, were Margaret, Catherine (Hess), Roland, Norbert, Madeline (Dietrich), Anna Marie (Nafziger), Walter, Arthur, Joseph, Raymond, Donald, Ken, Eddie, and Leo. She was the wife of Gerald Schnarr for 63 years. She is survived by children Gary (partner Sharon Schnarr), Reg (partner Karen (Eckert) Schnarr), Sandra (partner Eldon Unger), Judy and Daryl (partner Darlene Koller) Schnarr. Her grandchildren are Jacey, Brad, & Rob Schnarr, Bruce Pellar, Jennifer Toor & Steve Schnarr, Alyssa & Ryan Bauer, Katherine Piotrowski and Zack & Cali Schnarr.
Ruth and Gerald lived in St. Clements, Waterloo, Kitchener, and North Fort Meyers. Her children wish to honour her memory by following her examples of grace, courage, humour, and positive energy.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Ruth will be held Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 55 Driftwood Dr., Kitchener. A reception will follow in the Heritage Room at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, (519-743-8900).
