Predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Jerry (2014). Dear mother of Neil (Wanda) Koeslag and Mary Ann Koeslag. Dear "Emma" to Andrew and Ian Koeslag. Born Gerritjen van der Wal in Laren, Gelderland, the Netherlands, Shirley was the only daughter of A.W. and B.J. van der Wal. Shirley was predeceased by her 3 brothers.
Jerry and Shirley were married June 4, 1954, and emigrated to Canada later that year, joining many of Jerry's siblings in this country. In 1958, Jerry and Shirley moved to Petersburg. This would be their home for the rest of their lives.
A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22nd at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S. Kitchener from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. Memorial Service will be held in the chapel at 2:30 pm officiated by Norm and Holly DeBoer, from Rosebank BIC Church where Shirley was a member.
She will be remembered fondly by her extended family, neighbours, church family and friends. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to Rosebank BIC Church.
