He leaves behind his cherished wife of 64 years, Waldtraut (Katie) Behrendt (née Pototzki). They lived in Kitchener for many of those years and raised their four children Karin (Tom), Ron (Sherry), Greg (Brenda), and Chris (Allison) who in turn blessed him with many beautiful grandchildren and great grandchildren.
