Peacefully at the Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Sunday, April 22nd, 2012, at the age of 89.
Beloved husband of the late Loretta Ann Stack (nee Nims), loving father of Susan (David) Gibbs, proud grandfather (Poppy) to Shelley Gibbs and Russell (Erin) Gibbs.
Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Mary Stack, and his siblings, Ted (Edward), Kathleen, Phyllis, Iris, Allan, and Terry.
Born on July 9, 1922 in Montreal, Quebec, Walter served during World War II with the Black Watch (Royal Highland) Regiment of Montreal, Quebec, and was a very proud veteran.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a celebration of Walter’s life on Saturday, April 28th, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Westmount Funeral Chapel, 1001 Ottawa Street South (at Westmount Rd.), Kitchener.
