Wilhelm "Bill" Behling

Passed away peacefully on October 24, 2011 at A. R. Goudie Eventide Home at the age of 85 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Beloved husband of the late Waltraut Behling (2009). Loving father of Martin (Wendy) Behling and Charlotte (David) Kruk. Cherished grandfather of Erich, Rebecca, Jeffrey and Thomas. Loving great-grandfather of Alexis, Haley, Mason and Kingston.

Predeceased by his parents Erich and Elisabeth Behling, all his siblings, Edith, Helmut and Irma and his grand-daughter Heather Kruk. He will be missed by extended family in Germany.

Wilhelm came to Canada from Germany in 1954 with his wife and young son. Worked on a dairy farm in eastern Ontario and then on the construction of the St. Lawrence Seaway. Moved to Kitchener in the early 1960’s where he worked as a metal fabricator at Indiana Steel and Canadian Blower & Forge until his retirement.

He was an honest, hard working man who enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received at Westmount Funeral Chapel, 1001 Ottawa St., S., Kitchener for visitation on Saturday, October 29 at 10 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bill Shafer officiating. Interment will take place at Williamsburg Cemetery.
