Charles H Parks

Charles H. Parks, age 78, passed away on June 29, 2015. Mr. Parks was a member of Ball Road Baptist Church. He was a retired Captain of the Knoxville City Fire Department. He was the son of the late Henry and Pearl Parks. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gus Parks and two sisters: Melba Acuff and Lee Rae Pitts.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Phyllis Spencer Parks; son, Stephen D. Parks (Becky); grandsons: Brandon Parks (Beth), Eric Parks (Lindsay) and Chad Parks (Emily); eight great grandchildren and two nephews: David Pitts and Ronnie Pitts.

The Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday, July 2nd at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home with Rev. A.J. Crawford and Rev. Gary Jones, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM in the chapel.

Interment will be held in Lynnhurst Cemetery on Friday, July 3rd at 11:00 AM. Everyone is asked to assemble in the chapel to go in procession to the gravesite. Pallbearers will be Brandon Parks, Eric Parks, Chad Parks, Ronnie Pitts, Tommy McCullah, Bill Storey, Steve Mays and Mack Orick. Honorary pallbearers are nephew, David Pitts, and friends and neighbors, Ed Conley, Curtis Bell, and Stanley Rudder. The family would like to thank Liz, Teresa, Alonzo, Jermaine and the 2nd floor nursing staff at NHC Fort Sanders and Sandra West for the love and care they provided. Also, thank you to Patti Pitts for your faithful visits.
