Charles W. Young, age 86, of Knoxville, Tennessee went to his Heavenly Home on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. He was a lifetime member of The Church of God of Union Assembly and served as an ordained minister for 60 years. Charles proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean conflict. In his prime, he enjoyed golfing and cooking.
Charles was preceded in death by wife, Mae Doris "Polly" Young; parents, Carl Young and Delene Johnson Marshall; brother, Bennie Young; sisters, Catherine and Juanita; granddaughter, Lauren Turner. He is survived by children, Randall Young, Joy (Michael) Owens, Dwayne (Yuliya) Young, Talena Hodges, Charles W. Young Jr., Demarcus (Gwen) Young; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Kenneth (Susana) Young; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Friday, November 10th from 5-7pm at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home with funeral service following at 7pm. with Rev. Brandon Cookston officiating. A private graveside service will be held at Lynnhurst Cemetery.
