Charlotte Cecelia Wolfenbarger

Charlotte “Mamaw” Cecelia Wolfenbarger, age 84 of Knoxville, passed away January 19, 2025. She was a loyal wife, loving mother, and proud Mamaw. She spent many years working as a nurse for Dr. W Gilmer Reed, M.D. at Baptist Hospital. Charlotte had a passion for reading, cherishing her library card more than her driver's license. A longtime member of Alice Bell Baptist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, and a past Queen of the Daughters of the Nile.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, and she had a special talent for making each of her grandchildren feel uniquely cherished. She lovingly crafted beautiful outfits for her grandchildren, pouring her heart into every stitch. Her face would light up whenever she had the opportunity to share stories about her family's accomplishments with friends, neighbors, and even perfect strangers.

Preceded in death by her mother, Freda Bonk; step-father, Casper Bonk; and brother, Mark Bonk.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 38 years, David Wolfenbarger; son, Russ Anderson (Tina); daughter, Marty Lowe (Scott); step-daughter, Susan Ownby (Tony); step-son, Lee Wolfenbarger (Tammi); grandchildren: Cole Anderson, Elizabeth Anderson, Emily Anderson, Matt Anderson, Jordan Wolfenbarger, Haley Kelley (Kaleb), Logan Wolfenbarger (Makayla), Ashley Glenn, Chaney Palmer (Victor), and Camden Lowe; great-grandchildren: Maevery Palmer, Riley Wolfenbarger, Waylon Kelley, Weston Kelley, Salem Palmer, Lillyth Smith, Damion Smith, and Tegan; brothers: Cliff Bonk, John Bonk, Richard Bonk, and Raymond Bonk; sisters: Cassie Rakvica and Mary Micheli; as well as a host of special friends and extended family members. Her legacy of love, creativity, and devotion will live on through the many lives she touched.

Family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 W Adair Dr, Knoxville, TN 37918, with a Celebration of Life to follow at 4:00 PM.
