Ernest Larry Nelson, age 77, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, March 7, 2025. He was born October 22, 1947, in Pickens, South Carolina, son of the late Ernest and Geneva Nelson.
Larry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Claudia Nelson; two sons, Johnny Nelson (Michelle), "Little" Larry Nelson, Jr. (Robin); one daughter, Patricia "Sissy" Swaney (James); twelve grandchildren; 14 great-children. Also survived by three brothers, Bobby, Donnie, Mark.
Larry had a passion for dirt track racing, Harley motorcycles, all things Ford, and off-road vehicles. He had one profession through-out his life, working for Ford dealerships for the past 58 years, most recently working at Ray Varner Ford for the past 20 years.
Family will receive friends Monday, March 10, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 West Adair Drive, Knoxville, TN 37918. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM.
