

Frances Averil Beville Holladay aged 90 passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018. She was born on her family's farm in Dinwiddie County, Virginia as the youngest child of Ernest and Ada Rainey Beville. She was a graduate of Madison College with a bachelor's degree in Home Economics. She taught both Science and Home Economics in Virginia prior to making her home in Tennessee. As a faithful and active member of the Fountain City Presbyterian Church, she served in a number of leadership positions and was instrumental in establishing the Nursery School and Church Daycare. She was predeceased by 17 brothers and sisters and an infant son, Thomas Beville Holladay. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, John E. Holladay, Sr. and her children, Deborah H. Andrews (Craig), John E. Holladay Jr. (Kathy), Phyllis A. Holladay and Robert Edward Holladay (Anett); sisters-in-law Suzie Holladay Davis and Nancy Holladay Blanco; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is beloved as "GranFran" to her three grandchildren Amy, Brian and Jethro; and a great granddaughter, Hazel. She was loved and cherished in this role by her "grandchildren of the heart", Abbey and Leslie. She will long be remembered for her love of God and family and her gentle kindness to all. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Dr. Knoxville, TN. Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon with a brief graveside service to follow in the Lynnhurst Cemetery.
