Frank S. Sherrod

Sherrod, Frank S., age 83, of Knoxville, passed away Friday, May 4, 2012 peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was a member of Cross Roads Presbyterian Church and Fountain City Lodge F&AM. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and retired as supervisor from the U.S. Post Office after 35 years of service. He was a loving husband and father as well as a friend to everyone he knew. He never met a stranger. Preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Mary Lynn.

Survived by his wife of 58 years, Carolyn; daughters, Cathy Johnson and husband Doug, Peggy DeVenney and husband Kai; son, Mike Sherrod and wife Sherry; grandchildren, Dr. Meagan Moyers and husband Collin, John Johnson, Jacob Hurley and fiancée Elise Icuss, Caiti Hurley and fiancée James Oaks, Airman 1st Class Kodi DeVenney. Special thanks to Becky, Tish, Susan, Danea and all other friends from UT Hospice.

There will be a graveside memorial service at 1 pm Wednesday at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Robert Cook officiating.
