Rev. George Everett Powers, Sr. age 70, of Halls went to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 17, 2011. George was a member of Church of Jesus Christ and a retired truck driver. He was preceded in death by parents, George and Irene Powers; daughter, Penny Powers; wife, Betty Jo Powers.
George is survived by wife of 17 years, Ethel Powers; daughters Susan, Robin Lynn, Julie, Debbie and Lisa; son, George, Jr.; sister Charlotte Evans; 17 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3 nephews and niece; special pets, Spike and Hess.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 – 8 pm at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel with the service to follow at 8 pm with Rev Paul Cunningham officiating.
