

Georgia Maxine Lee a beloved wife, mother, Mamaw, and great grandma went to her eternal Home September 13, 2025 at the age of 96. She passed away peacefully at Jefferson County Rehab and Nursing Home in Dandridge, TN. Georgia was of the Baptist faith and received Jesus into her life at a young age. Due to her health in the last few years, she was unable to attend church but loved to watch and listen to Pastors, David Jeremiah and Charles Stanley.
Georgia leaves behind those to cherish her memory; children, Gerri (Ray) Barber, Vicki Hensley, Kathy (Tom) Cabbage, David (Connie) Lee, and Jeanette Kirby; grandchildren, Danny Barber, Stacey Tuggle, Billy Hensley, Brad (Mandy) Cabbage, Jeremy (Julie) Cabbage, Matt Cabbage, Brian Lee, Aaron (Brittney) Lee, Randee Lynn Kirby; great grandchildren, J.R. Long, J.T. and Michelle Thompson, MaKayla, Sara Beth, Will, and Claire Hensley, Talan and Baylor Cabbage, Karrington, Kohen, and Kasen Cabbage, and Emmy Lee; great- great grandchildren, Samantha Long, Lilly, Julie, and Raley Smith; special adopted family, Kirk (Laura) Wallace and girls, Meghann and Lauren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bertha Winfrey; husband, Deforest Lee; infant son, Daniel Lee; granddaughter, Kelli Kirby; sons-in-law, Randy Kirby and Bill Hensley; sisters, Pauline, Mary Ruth, Alma, Margaret Ann, and Josephine; brothers, Sammy and Johnny.
Georgia was born April 14, 1929 in Cherokee County, NC. She worked and retired from UT Hospital where she was a heart monitor technician for 23 years. Georgia was a loving and caring person and touched the hearts of many. She had a smile that will never be forgotten. Georgia loved children and was a caregiver to several children in her home after her retirement.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital at www.stjude.org where she was a devoted donor for many years. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Jefferson Park Nursing Home and Smoky Mountain Hospice for the wonderful care Mom received. Everyone from the nurses to custodial and dining hall staff were so kind to our mother.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, September 16th from 5-7pm with funeral following at 7pm at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home. Rev. Kirk Wallace officiating. Family and friends will meet at Berry Lynnhurst Chapel Wednesday, September 17th at 12:30pm for procession to Greenwood Cemetery on Tazewell Pike for a 1pm graveside service.
