James Taylor Walker, age 69, passed away Friday, October 22, 2021. He was a member of New Life Baptist Church. “Big Jim” was the former owner of Friendly Tire Service. He was a “Gentle Giant” with a big heart. Preceded in death by mother, Anna Mae Walker; brothers, Alvin and Jackie Walker; grandson, Nathan; sister, Brenda Brock. Survived by wife of 50 years, Sarah Walker; sons, Mark Walker and wife Donna, Steven Walker, and Billy Smith; grandchildren, Josh, James, Brittany, Taylor, Sarah, Krista, Jasmine, Cory, and Blake; 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Wanda, Barbara Ann, and Peggy. Family and friends will meet at Lynnhurst Cemetery Thursday at 2:45 pm for the 3 pm graveside service. Pastor Jody Darden will officiate.
