

Joan Floyd Inklebarger passed away August 30, 2024. She was 96 years old. She was a member of Fountain City Presbyterian Church. Joan was born in Covington, Kentucky. She graduated from Central High School in 1946. Joan was retired from JC Penney where she was the top salesperson in their furniture division at West Town Mall. She and her family especially enjoyed fishing and vacationing at St. Pete Beach for many years. Joan was an excellent seamstress and loved to read, do puzzles, and garden. She traveled throughout Europe, Canada, and the United States.
She is preceded in death by parents, William Burgess and Ruth Floyd; husband, Shasteen Amos Inklebarger, Jr.; sister, Mildred Seiber; brothers: William Floyd, Robert Floyd, James Floyd, Jack Floyd, and Carl Floyd.
She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Inklebarger Henson and husband John, Amy Inklebarger Ogden and husband Harry; son, Bob Inklebarger and wife Kim; five grandchildren, Emily Ogden, Stephen Ogden (Amanda), Sarah Ogden Stella (Michael), Michael and Brandy; nine great-grandchildren, Ruth Ogden, Mary Ogden, Gabriel Ogden, Samuel Ogden, Judy Ogden, Joseph Ogden, Grace Ann Ogden Gowan, Cailynn and BaileyAnn.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Morning Pointe of Powell, Shannondale Health Care Facility and Shalom Hospice for their excellent and compassionate care of Joan. They worked tirelessly to ensure that Joan had the best of care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Fountain City Presbyterian Church Music Fund, 500 Hotel Road, Knoxville, TN 37918.
A private graveside service will take place in Lynnhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Drive, Knoxville, TN 37918 with the celebration of Joan’s life to follow.
