Cedel, John Gustav, returned home to Heaven on Friday, May 11, 2012 in his home. Preceded in death by wife, Rita; children, Billy; grandson, Christopher; mother Pauline and father Gustav; 3 brothers, Amil, Bill, Dick; 3 sisters, Ida, Helen, and Natalie. John was a dedicated Christian and attended Christus Victor Lutheran Church. He was a WWII Veteran. Employed by Civil Service as a mail carrier for over 30 years. He was a devoted son, husband, father, uncle, and friend and he will live forever in our hearts.
Survived by children, Debbie, Cathy, and Carol; grandchildren, Nathan, David, Jr., Brittany, Cassy, Carly, and Sarah; nieces and nephews, Tommy, Jim, Rick, Debbie, Sandy, Cindy, Ann, and Sally.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 pm Wednesday at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel. There will be a funeral service on Thursday at 1 pm at Christus Victor Lutheran Church, 4110 Central Ave. Pk., Knoxville, TN 37912 with Pastor Bill Ondracka officiating.
