

Kenneth Wayne Thompson, age 72 of Knoxville, TN formerly of Strawberry Plains, TN, crossed over into Eternity on Friday April 10, 2020 at West Hills Health and Rehab. He retired from the University of Tennessee Medical Center in 2012 with 45 years of service.
Kenneth had waiting on him at the gates of Eternity his Mother and Step Father Louise and James Ray; Brothers James (Bill) and Michael Ray.
He leaves behind to cherish his loving memories two loving sisters; Vicky (Fred) Taylor, Evelyn Ray both of Knoxville, TN. dedicated brother; Gregory Ray, of Knoxville, TN., devoted nephews; Nicholas and Shawn McClain, both of Knoxville, TN., nephews; Joshua Ray of Maryville, TN, Kelby Ray of Knoxville, TN. niece; Madisyn Ray of Knoxville, TN., Sister-in-Laws; Michelle Ray of Knoxville, TN., Brenda Ray of Maryville, TN., Devoted Friend Randy Booth of Knoxville, TN. Kenneth also leaves behind numerous Cousins and Friends.
Kenneth will be remembered for being a good man; he was loved by many. Those who were close to him knew how he cared deeply for his family, friends and work family at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
The family would like to thank the staff at West Hills Health and Rehab and University of Tennessee Hospice, the care that they provided to Kenneth was second to none, and was greatly appreciated. Online condolences can be extended to the family at berrylynnhurst.com.
