Mrs. Ayres served as an Army RN in WWII in India. In 1947 she married Charles T. Ayres and was a faithful and caring wife until his passing in 2002. She was a member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church for over 40 years. She was Grand Worthy Matron of Eastern Star in Fountain City. She was head RN at Norwood Clinic for several decades.
She is survived by a son, Charles J. Ayres, grandson Caine Ayres and wife Shelley, and two great-grandaughters, Rylee and Elsie. Daughter-in-law, Robin Ayres; Special Friends, Susan Maynard, Linda Cox and Rose Chase. A Graveside Service for Mrs. Ayres will be conducted on Saturday, March 21st at 3 PM in Lynnhurst Cemetery.
