

Lynda Trost Maples, age 68 of Knoxville, TN, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 after a lengthy and courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). Lynda was born on February 8, 1947 in Staten Island, New York. Lynda was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Lynda was a 1965 graduate of Fulton High School, and a 65 year member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Knoxville. She and her husband were owners of Trent Printing Company. After Lynda retired from Trent Printing Co. she worked for Home Federal Bank (Downtown West) for 8 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Eula Jon (Jonnie) and Richard O. Trost, daughter, Whitney Elizabeth, and niece, Brandy Dana Maples. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Gerald David Maples, daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Gary Morgan; son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Page Maples; grandchildren, Bailey and Sarah Morgan, Emily and Evan Maples; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Dan Beckham; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Danny and Carol Maples, and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 544 N. Broadway, Knoxville, on Friday, September 18, 2015 at 10:00 am with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 11 am. The service will be officiated by the Rev. J. Stephen Misenheimer, Rev. Amy C. Figg, and Rev. John Tirro. After the service family and friends will travel to Lynnhurst Cemetery for the graveside services.
