Mary Ann Moore, 90, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025. She made it to her 90th birthday, but with dementia, she said, ‘Ain’t NO way, I’m 90 years old!” She worked many jobs from the dietary department at a small hospital, to a greeter at Walmart, to a factory worker with Levi’s company, and finally retiring from allied signal, where she sewed seat belts for automobiles. She was a founding member of Valley View Baptist Church of Knoxville, a devout Christian, strong in her faith and she knew where she was going when her life was over. No doubts! There was a lot of ‘loves’ in her life, God, her family, flowers in her yard, working her puzzle books, watching the birds, traffic, and neighbors out of her ‘double windows’, sitting on her porch, morning coffee and 3 ginger snaps, miniature Reese’s cups. Even until her last breath, she never lost her sass, smile, and caring for others.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Don Moore; daughter, Martha Ann Bales; parents, William “Hugh” and Barbara Davis.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Mary “Janie” (Joe) Champion, Karen (Matt) Ogle; brother, James “Jim” (Ann)Davis; son-in-law, Steve Bales; grandchildren, Jamie (Frank) Provenza, Michael (Jessica) Bales, Krista Tisdale, Amanda Ogle, Tommy (Alicia) Hipsher, Beth Ogle; great-grandchildren, Cody (Lexi) Witt, Maynard Tisdale, Hayden Bales, Mila Tisdale, River Bales, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
The family would like to send a special thanks to the Covenant Hospice team (Beth, Jane, and Tabitha), the love and care they showed our Momma was phenomenal. We appreciate the many prayers, texts, calls and support from all our friends.
