

Irwin, S. Ronald, age 74, passed away at Beverly Park Place at 7:16 pm Sunday, May 8, 2016. Preceded in death by his parents Walter and Letha Irwin and sister Joyce. Survived by wife of 49 years, Rosiland; loyal sons and wives: Dr. Craig and Suzanne Irwin of Lexington, KY and Rev. Bryan and Lora Irwin of Maryville, TN; grandsons: Bryan II, Andrew and Cade of Maryville, TN; Alexander and Jonathan of Lexington, KY. Ron is also survived by beloved sister-in-law and family Diana, Mike, Curtis and Jennifer Beasley of Brentwood, TN. Member of Fountain City United Methodist Church and retired from Rohm & Haas (Dow) as Mechanical Engineer Manager for 34 years, BSME and MSME from his beloved UT. Member of Engineering Honor Societies Tau Beta Pi and Pi Tau Sigma. Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the state of Tennessee. Ron served the children of his community by working in the bus ministry of City View Baptist Church and tutoring students in math at Fountain City UMC. Past member of North Knoxville Rotary Club; served on Board of Directors of Tennessee Farm Bureau of Anderson County. Ron enjoyed working on the Irwin farm in Norris; a farm in existence for nearly 200 years. He had the family farm inducted into the Tennessee Century Farm Society. Ron was very interested in his Scottish heritage and culture, and Ron and the family members of Clan Irwin. Ron was well known to be very generous to family and friends with all the resources available. He was dearly loved to his sons, grandsons, wife and extended family. Receiving of friends at Fountain City United Methodist Church Saturday, May 14 from 2-3 pm. Funeral will follow. Officiated by Rev. John Gargis and Rev. Amy Aycock. Family and friends will meet at Greenwood Cemetery Sunday, May 15 at 2 pm for entombment. Bagpipes at services provided by Kay Irwin. Pallbearers: sons and grandsons.
