With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our cherished Thomas (Tom) Anderson on March 18, 2025. Tom was a clinical psychologist who practiced in Snellville, GA for over 30 years. He helped hundreds of people overcome and move through their marriage and family issues and used EMDR to help Veterans with PTSD. He is remembered by all as a gentle, caring, loving and kind man. He liked to tell stories about traveling the United States as a Military brat and graduating from high school in Anchorage, Alaska. He was an avid runner for over 30 years. He and his wife completed 35 Peachtree Road Races and thousands of miles on the roads and trails. Tom loved a view, whether of the mountains, ocean, or lakes. He considered himself lucky to retire to his home with a grand view of The Smokies. Tom was always involved with the YMCA. He met his wife Linda at the downtown Knoxville YMCA on a blind date, worked as Community Youth Director there and continued as a Y member wherever he lived. He was a member of the Senior Class and worked out at the Davis YMCA until his death.
Preceded in death by son, Brian Anderson; mother, Mildred Fox Anderson; father, Thomas Anderson, Sr.; and brother, Michael Anderson.
Deeply mourned by his loving wife, Linda Morton Anderson; sisters: Glenda Anderson, Nancy Anderson Wick (Richard); brothers: Wayne Anderson, Glenn Anderson (Diana) and many extended family members who will miss him dearly. The family would like to thank Morning Pointe Memory Care of Hardin Valley and Amedisys Hospice for their kind and helpful care of Tom during his last weeks.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Davis YMCA of Knoxville, TN 865-777-9622 or at https://ymcaknoxville.org/give. Arrangements made by Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Drive. Condolences and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.berrylynnhurst.com
