

Timothy Ferguson, age 77, of Powell, TN passed away suddenly on August 11, 2024. Tim was born in Indianapolis, IN in 1947 to Roger Lee and Beverly Ann Coleman Ferguson. His childhood was spent exploring Indianapolis with his childhood friends. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in business administration from Brigham Young University, where he met and married Patty Hartman. They were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on September 16, 1968. He was formerly employed by Allstate Insurance and later worked at Premier Industrial Corporation before going to Liberty Safe where he retired in 2014. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served others in many capacities throughout the years. Tim served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Northwestern States Mission from 1966 to 1968.
He enjoyed reading (especially History), playing Scrabble, exploring the Western United States, and was a talented storyteller. He loved the outdoors, traveling to Alaska and other places hunting with his son, David. His children and grandchildren will always remember Little Orphan Annie. Those close to him always appreciated his willingness to listen.
Preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Beverly Ferguson; younger brother, Brian Ferguson.
Survived by his wife of 56 years, Pat; children, Pam (Brent), Sheri, David (Millissa), and Jennifer; four grandchildren, Colter Ferguson, Hunter Ferguson, Alycia Burley (Keith), Laura Downey (Joshua); great-grandchildren, Jada, Brooks and Josie Burley, Lucas Downey; sister, Ruth Lemler; brother, Russell Ferguson; very special friends, Danny and Janine Brewer and Wally and Chris Hipple.
A public viewing will be held Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 5:30 - 7:00 pm at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Dr, Knoxville, TN 37918. An additional viewing will be held August 16, 2024 from 10:00 - 11:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 6024 Grove Dr. Knoxville, TN 37918. The funeral service will be 11:00 am in the chapel of the church. We will go in procession to Lynnhurst Cemetery for the interment following the service.
