

William K. Forrester, II “Big Bill,” 78, of Powell, Tennessee, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, November 13. Bill was born November 22, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Ruby and William Forrester “Daddy Bill”. In addition to, his mother and father, his siblings Delores Ogle and Michael Forrester preceded Bill in death. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Linda G. Forrester, who was the love of his life, as well as his son, William Forrester, III “Little Bill” and wife Sheila, and very special grandchildren, Maggie Lauren and Hayden Thomas Forrester, Johnson City. He is also survived by his father-in-law D.R. Gilbert, Knoxville.
Bill graduated from Powell High School in 1962. He also served his country in the Navy from 1962 to 1966. He worked as a pipefitter and retired from Y12 in Oak Ridge after 31 years of service and he was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union No. 102 for 52 years.
He was a very active person, enjoying hunting and fishing throughout his life. Bill also enjoyed riding his motorcycle with the local Harley Motorcycle group. Bill looked forward to meeting and enjoying lunch weekly with his Thursday Lunch Bunch at Cracker Barrel. He was an active member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church and the Faithful Followers Class.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 18, 2021, in the Berry Lynnhurst Chapel, 2300 Adair Dr., Knoxville, TN from 12:00 pm to at 2:00 pm, with a funeral service to follow officiated by Rev. Kent Williams. Graveside service will immediately follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to UT Hospice and PCM Nursing & Home Care for the wonderful care they provided.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested contributions be made to the Wallace Memorial Baptist Church or Shriners Hospital for Children.
