William Ralph Nichols Jr.

Nichols, Jr, William Ralph, age 82, of Ftn. City went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 21, 2010. Member of Christ United Methodist Church. He retired from TTI as a Steel Estimator, and after retirement worked at Dollywood. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army service during the Korean War and retired from Army Reserves as Sgt. 1st Class with 28 years of service. He was also an avid U.T. Fan. Preceded in death by parents, Ralph and Elizabeth Nichols.

Survived by wife of 57 years, Betty Nichols; daughter, Carol Kissinger and husband, Dennis; son, William Ralph Nichols III and wife, Vickie; daughter, Kathy Johnson and husband, Stanley; daughter, Angela Cole and husband, Dewayne; grandchildren, Lisa Cawley and husband, Mark, Jonathan Nichols and wife, Amy; Adam Johnson, Kimberly Nichols, and Kristin Cole; great grandchildren, Dani and Sara Cawley, Brock Nichols; special cousins, Joy Anderson and Bill and Marie Lett. Special thanks to Mercy Hospice in Halls.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 pm Thursday with the funeral service to follow at 7 pm Thursday in the Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel with Dr. Bruce Marston officiating. Family and friends will meet at Greenwood Cemetery for interment 11:00 am Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 7535 Maynardville Hwy, Knoxville, Tn 37938.
