Belia Martinez

Belia Martinez 80, of Harlingen, Texas entered into eternal rest on January 5, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on May 21, 1936 to Esther and Castulo Martinez who preceded her in death as well as her four siblings Roberto, Maria Guadalupe, and Marta. She is also preceded in death by her husbands Antonio Garza, Jesus Padron Sr. and Hipolito Aguilar.

Survivors include daughters Maria Esther Guillen and husband Alfonso Jr., Rosa Torres, Paula Gonzalez and husband Omar, Claudia Salinas and husband Miguel, and son Armando Padron; grandchildren Candace Guillen, Carie and Keith Trezevannte, Alfonso III and Jennifer Guillen, Gabriel and Tony Torres, Omar Jr. and Michelle Gonzalez, Pamela and Matt McCumber, Bianca and Mac Gonzalez, Mikey, Marco, and Marcelo Salinas; great-grandchildren: Ysabella Ramirez-Guillen, Kathyrn, Madeyln, and David Guillen, Zoe and Deja Trezevannte, Noah and Sydney Gonzalez, Colt and Vivienne Belle McCumber.

She loved spending time with family and friends, cooking, gardening, and shopping. Finding a great bargain thrilled her. Mrs. Martinez had many friends who visited her regularly, and in her younger years, she enjoyed music and dancing. Special occasions were always marked with family, friends and great food. Most of all, she treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly.

Funeral services are under the direction of Heavenly Grace Funeral Home. Services include visitation on Sunday, January 8 from 1 P.M. to 9 P.M. with a holy rosary prayed at 7 P.M. A funeral mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church will be celebrated on Monday, January 9 at 10:00 A.M.

Honored to be pallbearers are Alfonso Guillen III, Gabriel Torres, Tony Torres, Mac Gonzalez, Mikey Salinas, and Marco Salinas. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Armando Padron and Marcelo Salinas.

The family would like to thank Dr. Todd Shenkenberg, Dr. James Castillo, Harllingen Nursing Center staff, and Gentiva Hospice staff for their tender loving care.
